Just Getting Started...

Hi to All,

Just returned to Reno, NV this afternoon from Las Vegas with our "new" 1967 Caravel, aka Baby! All of our family has had the same reaction..."Oh, this is perfect!" Just wanted to say thanks to Paul and Ann, the trailer is beautiful and will be well cared for and thanks to Mark, the Airstreamguy, for his transportation work from Paradise, TX to Las Vegas. We're so excited! Look forward to future posts, pics and tidbits gleaned from the forums.

Steve

Welcome Steve,

You've got a great little A/S there! Post some pics so we can all oooh and ahhh! It is just beginning to be rally time, so check out the rally calendar and get on over to one! They are great! There may still be time to sign up for the Lava Beds Rally in August... not so far from Reno! And naturally near you is Burning Man....

See you on the road!

Steve.

Please be advised that there is a large failure of torsion axles on the smaller Aitsream trailers due to fatigue. We replace them at least once a week.

That problem is accelerated when the axle is bad.

The following article will help you check your axle out in just a few seconds.

Dura Torque Axle

Andy,

Thanks for the heads-up. Previous owners installed a new axle and disc brakes (I believe all the equipment came from Inland) so I'm good there. I do have a laundry list of other items...first up, some new seals for screen and entry doors, then maybe some window clips, and ... This is gonna be FUN!

By the way, how do you all get the pic to show up under your username? I uploaded a pic to the profile section, but am not sure where it has ended up. Never mind, just figured it out...sweet!

To post a "pic" under your user name you want to choose "avatar". There are size limitations, etc. Somewhere are directions... sorry I can't point to them right away but a search might help, or look under new members "sticky" notes on the portal perhaps.

Sounds like your gonna have fun!
