Just bought a 31' 1971 Excella

Hello all!
As the title indicates, I am now the proud owner of a 1971
Excella. It needs a little work to make it sea worthy but I am looking forward to the adventure.
My first quandry is whether to keep it original or sell off the original stuff and customize it.
I'd like to use it as a mobile office and converting the whole front into an office with a desk wrapping around the whole area is pretty appealling.
However, I feel guilty ripping out all the original stuff because it's in pretty good shape.
Is there anyone in the Dallas area that would be willing to take a look at it and give me their opinions and pointers?
I can do basic plumbing, electrical, woodwork and welding if I can be of service.
Of course I'm more than eager to hear from everyone regardless of location.

Welcome to the forums, and congrats on the new purchase!! We were set on keeping our '71 original as well; then we started accumulating older trailers that seemed "more worthy" of preservation. So we're talking about customizing the '71 after we're done reworking the other two, but we'll see how we feel down the road. We're perfectly happy using it in original condition for now. I'd say whatever is going to give you the best enjoyment and use of your AS is what you should do.
