Jim G.

Greetings from Charlottesville, Va.

My wife Lynn and I are currently travelling about with a Tab trailer. It has been great fun and a splendid entre into the world of trailer camping. We pulled the Tab through 10 western National Parks last spring and had a blast.
Now that we sort of know what we are doing, we are thinking about a click up the evolutionary ladder to an Airstream.

Ten years ago, or so, we owned an Airstream 1967 Caravelle. It needed a lot of work and basically just sat behind our home. It was one of those projects that I never got around to, so we advertised it and sold it via rv trader (or equivalent).

We've just started looking at Airstreams again. Of the new ones, the 19 ft
Safari SE and the 20 ft Safari have caught our attention. A friend of ours
restores/refurbishes vintage Airstreams (Trailer Buff, Afton, Va. ) and so we may check that out.

For the moment we are designing a garage large enough to accomodate whatever Airstream we may end up with.

More later.
Cheers
Jim G.

Welcome to the Forums. Good luck in your search for your perfect Airstream. Have you checked out the Classifieds here on the Forums?

jim,

welcome aboard!

you may be on to something. many members on this site would recommend selecting your tow vehicle first, then getting the appropriate sized airstream. HOWEVER, i like your new way of thinking....design the garage first to accomodate whatever size airstream you're gonna fit in there...

good luck on your search
