I just checked in on your thread after not keeping up on your progress in a month or so and am glad to see you have a trip planned. Congrats!
Don't forget to change the signature under your avatar from "Former Overlander Owner"!
See you down the road.

Sorry to dissapoint you Tracey, but I think that Sierrajb has sold his Airstream just a day after posting his first trip schedule... But you could give him some karma, maybe that will help him a little...

Thanks to the both of you for your care during my temporary "loss" of my dream. I still check in the forum periodically. Can't seem to get it ALL out of my system, and I'm not sure if I ever want to!
My new subtitle "Former Overlander Owner" kinda chokes me up, if you know what I mean.
Financially, we're slowly seeing some light at the end of the tunnel (no, it's not a train! ) Could be several months before we're seriously looking again. Thanks again, to all!

Wow, what a journey! Several months, indeed, and I'm now the proud owner of a 1975 Argosy 24 Twin. Just picked it up about 3 weeks ago (early November 2006) and have already put new tires on it, updated the propane tanks, rebuilt the countertops and taken a Thanksgiving trip! Don't worry, no nigtmare in sight. You've all taught me well. This is a keeper! No major structural issues. Just typical cosmetics with peeling vinyl walls....
Did I tell you there's a world of difference between the 60's and 70's? Sure miss that real wood and coziness of the 60's, but this 75 brings us a roomier floor plan, etc. that fits our family even better!
Watch for me on other posts and I'll get some pics soon. Thanks to each of you who have been so much help. I won't name individuals, but you know who you are! God Bless our travels together....

Welcome back! I am very happy that everything has worked out for you. You will need to post some pictures of your new trailer. BTW, I love the 70's as well.....
I sent you a PM if you need help with the vinyl wall covering. It's easy to remove and replace and it makes these Argosys look great again. I miss the real wood too, but I love these trailers. They are hard to keep off the road. Congratulations, and we need pictures.
Congradulations on getting back in dreamland. I always liked the Argosies. I actually thought they were fiberglass Airstreams in my youth. No, that would be a Casita!
Anyway, I'm glad you found the coach of your new dreams and hope you will have many dreams fulfilled as your adventure in the camping world begins. Good luck, post photos, and keep us informed.

I just read this whole thread, beginning to end. What a roller coaster ride - then a happy ending. I think Argosys are cool. Congrats on your find, I'm sure you and your family will get much use and enjoyment out of it.

Hey, All! Thanks for the words of encouragement. Looks like the Good Lord took what I thought was a nightmare and turned it into a sweet reality. This trailer fits our family like a glove (not OJ's glove, mind you!). Not sure if you can see it, but we've hung some Christmas lights in the front windows that match those around the roof edges of our home.
Kinda makes you say, "Awww." We'll keep in touch!
