Introduction

Well Folks...a few years ago, my brother and I bought a "complete" (project) 58 Airstream 18 "Traveler". Found on Ebay, it was only a short tow truck flatbed ride away from home (near Santa Cruz, CA). Since my brother had already purchased a "restored" 54 Flying Cloud, also found on Ebay, picked up and hauled all the way home from Oklahoma. He thought I should be working with Aluminum too. Fast forward to a couple of "weaks" ago and in a moment of total ? I purchased his end of the 58. This, I guess, to help him finance a Baja trip with his latest flame..a VW 4x4 "Westy" Camper (he's still restoring his "restored" 54) AND my chance to become completely involved with my own Airstream! My quest for more Airstream info brought me to you! Thanks for the help you've already provided! Danish
PS. My wife's quotes on the Airstream..."That's cute". "Is that mold?" "It will be really nice when it's finished!" "Better hurry, Summer's coming."

Sounds like fun! Welcome to the forum. The promise of warm weather and good camping is a great restoration motivator

Welcome, Danish...you already know it's addictive and it may take some time and lots of effort, but it's too late for you now...you've got the bug. The up side is that you're in the right place for all things Airstream and you've stumbled upon the most knowledgable, helpful and friendly Airstream site on the internet (not to mention all the moral support you'll need)! So jump right in becuase the sooner you get your AS up and on the road, the sooner the fun can start. (And your wife is correct on all counts...but you konw what? She'll porbbaly enjoy it as much as you will.)

Hurry up. We're anxious to see you down the road!

TB
