Hi

First off I should already apologize for the quality of my written English.
French is my first language and I often struggle with syntax and grammar when I try to write in English. I have been visiting this forum for awhile now and I am amazed by the quantity and the quality of the information members are willing to share. For now all I can share are my many questions but I hope that as I progress from prospective owner of an Airstream to newbee to veteran I too will gain knowledge that I can one day share.

Once reading more than a few posts with issues like bad breaks instead of brakes, or it's prololy going to take too long, instead of probably. My all time favourite, which I have mistakenly done myself in the past, is your instead of you're.
Some of the posts will give your translator a fit and will be untranslatable (if there is such a word).

Une fois la lecture de plus de quelques postes à des problèmes comme les mauvaises pauses au lieu de freins , ou il est prololy va prendre trop de temps , au lieu de sans doute . Mon favori de tous les temps , que je ai fait moi-même à tort dans le passé , est votre lieu de vous êtes .
Certains des postes donnera votre traducteur un ajustement et sera intraduisible ( se il ya un tel mot ) .

Greetings Papa Smurf. Welcome to Air Forums. I agree with your assessment that these Forums are friendly, courteous, and helpful. I think the Airstream community is very much the same way. Some very nice folks that travel in these Airstreams, and it's been that way for over 75 years.

Airstreams last a long time. Airstreams need maintenance and repair. All things Airstream can be found and discussed in these Forums. I hope someday I can help you with a question you may have, and I hope someday you can help me with a question I may have.

I agree with you these translator are pretty much useless. They might work for one word at a time but not much more. Just to prove my point I entered your french translation and asked to translate it back to English. Here is the result.

After reading more than a few posts to problems like bad breaks instead of brakes , or it is prololy will take too much time , instead of no doubt. My favorite of all time, I made myself wrong in the past , is your place to you .
Some positions will give your translator will fit and untranslatable (if such a word).

I am sure if you go back and forth a few times the result could be quite funny but really not what you meant in the first palce. I will make the effort to write in proper English but be forgiving if I make a few mistakes and do not hesitate to correct me .

Hi and welcome to another Canuk. I am sure that in your lurking you have realized that this is an awesome community. I feel blessed to have this forum in my life, such wonderful people. I have laughed, nay, hooted, (the Hijacking and Sex in an Airstream threads), and cried, (First she had to take a ride in a boat, and Maggie's threads). And I have learned so much from skilled and prodigious intellects.
I truly hope you get as much out of being in this community.
I also hope that your baby will find you very soon and you will be posting pics like all of us proud AS Mommies and Daddies.

You know what this means right? Before you take offence at what is written in English and that you have translated into French, allow the poster to clarify his position or tone before you blow a gasket. It most likely will end up being a misunderstanding.

Vous savez ce que cela signifie à droite? Avant de prendre ombrage de ce qui est écrit en anglais et que vous avez traduit en français , permettre à l' affiche pour clarifier sa position ou la tonalité avant de vous sauter un joint . Il sera très probablement finir par être un malentendu.
