Welcome, I too wonder how you decided on an Air Stream? Are there a lot of them in your area, or did you just see them somewhere in a magazine, on-line, or elsewhere? Let us know what you eventually buy. There is a lot of info to be found, check out the search feature for what you are looking for.

Thanks for the welcome

I have traveled quite a bit around the US and Canada as I really enjoy this part of the world. The Airstream design and history associated with the brand truly fascinates me and in many ways represents what I like about the US.

My family is a great fan of the camping life, but personally I have always found the European way of camping to be too much mainstream... Airstreams are not that common in Europe, especially not in Denmark. In fact, Ive only seen one Airstream here, and that was a 31ft converted into some sort of concession trailer... and it was on German plates. If I succeed n importing a vintage AS to Denmark and get it up and running, it would really turn some heads around the country side. Not that I like the attention at all, but I enjoy having an issue to discuss with other like minded. And Im sure the presence of an AS would be a conversation topic!

Finding an AS to export seems to be quite a task. Its virtually impossible to get a reply from i.e. Craiglist sellers... the only ones replying are the scammers...
Actually I was under the impression that I had closed a deal on a 71 Globetrotter with an RV seller from PA. I had wired the agreed deposit, but they decided to cancel the deal as they wanted to keep the trailer themselves! After a week they got back to me but now asking a higher price. I decided not to go any further with these folks.
So basically Im down to a few dedicated classified sections as on this forum and eBay.

As Im not in a hurry Im confident that someday I will find what Im looking for and get it shipped over here ;-)
