Introduction

Hi everybody!

I'm a happy new owner of a 1972 23ft. Safari Double. I am planning on gutting it and I will have many parts for sale. I would appreciate any recommendations you all may have on how to price those parts and where to list them. I'm new to this community, I also have a small fleet of vintage VWs and I use VW forums for parts, etc. So I know that there are people out there with knowledge to share about the toys they love! I would be so grateful for any suggestions you may have!

Thanks,
Danielle

Welcome aboard. There is a large contingent of vintage trailer users and rebuilders here that will show up with knowledge as well as opinions. Your ancillary job will be shifting the wheat from the chaff.

Hope you have lots of fun doing the rebuild and driving down the road afterwards with a real sense of accomplishment.

Click on the Classifieds Tab at the top of the page. You will have to register again...and sign in to the Classifieds in addition to signing in for the Forums. There, you can list the things you wish to sell. Take pictures of everything. Upload them to an external site like Photobucket....because you cannot directly upload your pics to the Classifieds. It will ask you for a URL for your pic....thus Photobucket. Pricing can be highly subjective. You might also list your items on EBay. Sometimes you can find similar pricing for items on EBay. But really, it's very time consuming to arrange all that shipping....and expensive for larger items. So, be willing to negotiate. Instead of shipping, perhaps you or the buyer can find other Streamers heading in the direction of the buyer....and perhaps they will be willing to act as 'shipper'. All things are possible in the Airstream Community.

Good Luck

Hi Danielle,
I just bought a 1972 Ambassador. I am missing one window screen frame. If you are planning to gut to that extent, please let me know and maybe your old screen frames will fit my trailer?? You can just mark this post and let me know when you are ready.
Thanks.

I just purchased a 1978 28' Argosy motor home. I've had it a week and discovered, in an unfortunate manner, that it needs a timing belt. Any one know a reasonable backyard mechanic in the Sioux City area? Does anyone know the approximate cost of the job? The steps in which the job is done?
Thank you for any info you can provide.
