Howdy from the lower Wisconsin river valley

Howdy,
My wife and I are graduate campers, by that I mean we've camped since we were kids and as we've aged we've graduated from tent camping (for our base camp anyway - we still backpack into the back-country with a light weight two man tent) to trailer camping.

We still have our first trailer (a tear drop) but we're going to sell that and move up to something we can "live" in.
You can't really "live" in a teardrop.

Our ideal is a lightly used 25 ft Airstream. Before we buy our Airstream we want to build a garage for it (storage seems like an important issue based on my studies of Airstreams). This approach may seem backward but it makes sense to us.

We've already upgraded our tow vehicle from a Tacoma to a Tundra, so next is a garage and then our trailer upgrade.

This site seems great, thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.
MK

Hello from Colorado: Welcome to the Airstream Forums. You are right, there is a wealth of knowledge here with people willing to share it. I think you are wise to invest in a outbuilding for your potential Airstream. And the Tundra will tow a 25' 8000 pound Airstream quite well.

Here is a primer on posting photos:

1. Find the paperclip in the task bar called attachments. Click on it to open Airstream Forums "Manage Attachments".

2. Now click on Choose File. My Airstream Photos are on my PC. If your a phone photo guy, like many are, you will have to send the photo to a device that will allow you to select the photo file. You can browse around until you select the photo file you want to upload.

3. After clicking on the photo file, select "Open" at the bottom of the window. The file name will appear in the Manage Attachments window next to the Choose File box.

4. Click on "Upload". If you choose a 4 meg photo, it will take a while to complete the upload. Airstream Forums will resize the photo to a more manageable 200K size automatically.

5. Then you can click on "close this window" of the Manage Attachments window.

6. If you like, you can click on "Preview Post" to see how your photo and posting will look. You can edit from the preview post screen. But it isn't uploaded yet.

7. Last, click on "Submit Reply". You have about 15 minutes to edit your post if you like. After that, it is part of history.

Here is my 1975 Overlander 27' Airstream I purchased last fall. I've got it all torn apart right now. I'm looking forward to traveling with it this summer.

Hope this helps...

David
