Hey neighbor

where did you go on your first excursion? We can highly recommend Cooper Lake State Park over in Sulphur Springs... the South Cooper Unit....

Send your grandkids to A&M so you can have a full-blown family feud.

David,

hadn't you heard... A&M is dead to all of us now that they've joined that "other" football conference lol

Lake Tawakoni State Park. Only 30 miles from my house. Clean w/ nice facilities. Maybe all state parks are like Tawakoni.

If you liked Tawakoni, you are going to love Cooper.... it's a really nice park. It's our go-to weekend getaway.... great staff, nice facilities.

What we liked about Tawakoni is those very cool shower suites, but believe me, in July the were very hot.

Cooper has a swimming beach, screen shelters, cabins, some very nice grassy pullthrough spaces as well as lots of good shaded spaces.

Football? Is that what they get all noisy about over at Kyle Field?

I'm a very strange Texan... I went to college for an education, not for football.

I served time at Ft. Sam Houston. Graduated from what was "Southwest Texas University." My wife has family in San Antonio and friends. We used to spend a lot of time at Canyon Lake. Does anybody have any recent experience camping at Canyon Lake?
