Howdy from Texas!
Around 30 yrs ago this little whippersnapper use to have a blast going camping with his grandparents & one particular aunt & uncle across Texas & in parts of Colorado... They owned different flavors of Avion & Silver Streak, respectively. Great memories...
Well, now this particular little guy isn't so little anymore, and has some little whippersnappers of his own that are at the age that they'd love to start camping. Also, we (mom & dad), after years of tent camping, backpacking, and 4 years in the Marine Corps are ready to sleep in the AC at night on a more comfortable bed, and maybe not get rained on as much!!! hehe We're ready to start making our own great memories...
So, we're beginning our search for an Airstream that fits our family of four. I've checked these forums from time to time, but decided it was time to finally officially join. So, Howdy from Texas everyone!
Sincerely,
Scott & Kristen t

Welcome to the forums Scott & Kristen
We were tent campers and about 12 years ago bought our first used travel trailer and really enjoyed being able to get in out of the weather and enjoy the cool of the A/C in the summer. We had always wanted an Airstream and a little over a year ago we found a 2005 Classic that was like brand new. Since then we have been out in weather as cold as 19 degrees and as warm as 100 + degrees and have stayed real comfortable. We were out 8 times last year and only once this year, but are planning a 10 day trip in July. We are in the process of developing a lot and building a home that we plan to retire to so we have much more time to be able to travel with our Airstream.

Welcome you two.... and your whippersnappers as well..
Yep.. We gave up tent camping ourselves and gave the gear to our kids. They're backs are younger and they heal faster too.
Good luck on you search and keep the posts coming.
Kevin

Good luck on your Airstream search. We found our a year ago and are enjoying the adventure. Ours is a 25' Safari. This year we are going to venture outside of Texas but not far. Texas is the greatest and Houston was our home for many years. The west was calling us (at least as far as San Antonio) and we replied. Been here for 2 years now and love it. Hope you find your favorite AS soon. Enjoy.

We have no whippersnappers, just the two of us now. We bought our A/S amost two years ago, after many years of me not camping, and Rusty Rivet doing the tent thing. Out of the blue I decided that we should get a TT for our retirement (soon, very soon) (yeah_) so we can see some of our beautiful US of A. I didn't much care about the brand, by RR was only going to have a AS. We lucked out, found one in our backyard (portland) not long after we started our search. We have been out on several trips, most recently a boondocking trip (our first), and successful. Hope that you will find the perfect trailer to fit your families needs.
Happy Camping, Susan
