Howdy from Texas
Hey ya'll:
This is Ann & Jeff Roberson from Humble, TX (just north of Houston). This is our first post and while we are not Airstream owners, we are actively seeking one so we can hit the road ASAP and as much as possible. We will be checking in frequently in hopes of finding our dream 'Stream and all the info we need to pursue our dream.
We'll be checking back real soon.

howdy, right back at ya! Welcome!
Check the classified listings here and on Fred's sight as well. I'm not sure if you're looking for a trailer or a motorhome. Either way Airstream is the right choice.
Good luck in your search.

Hi Ann and Jeff,
A big welcome to the Forums. This is the best place for Airstream info. Don't be afraid of asking questions - lots of folks here who know what they are tralking about and willing to share. I'm still at the asking questions stage!

Welcome to the biggest and best site on the web for airstream and airstream accessories.
Check out the classifieds here, at the airstream corporation website, or a dealer if you are looking new (I hear wonderful things about Airstream of Arkansas).
Again....WELCOME.

Ann and Jeff:
Welcome to the Forums. Less than a year ago we spotted an Airstream diesel motorhome that we really liked and came home and found the Forums. We got to reading and studying and researching and discovered what a great find we had come upon - both the Forums and the motorhome. We went back and purchased that motorhome and named it "Seymour" after a former owner. Well, after just two Rallies we were sold! Our Airstream was so comfortable, the people so great, and we knew we would be Streamin for the rest of our lives. We have currently listed Seymour in the classifieds because we are ready to move on up to something a little newer. Tell me what you are looking for and we'll keep our eyes open as we're looking for us. Welcome to the Forums!

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.
You have found the right place for all the straight scoop on Airstreams, and activities related thereto.
You failed to mention whether you are interested in new or late model or vintage. There are people here who can point you in the right direction to begin your search.

Where to Search
The dryer parts of Texas, New Mexico and Arizona are great places to search for vintage units because there is less of a leak / rot issue due to the climate. Most of us prefer Craigslist.org or RVtraderonline.com over ebay.com because there are so many scams on ebay. That doesn't mean you can't find a great deal on e-bay though... so look all the time, everywhere.
BTW, even driving through Retirement RV Parks can work.... people age out or die, and relatives have to sell off the trailer.
WELCOME.

Hi Ann & Jeff,
Welcome. I found my 34' Excella in the classifieds area here. Got a great deal only 100 miles from home.

Four sources for used Airstreams...
Ann & Jeff-
Welcome as well, and good luck in your search... We're assuming you're trying to find perfect used trailer, since there are lots of dealers, with lots of inventory of new trailers, and many are active internet sellers. Having a good local dealer interested in providing good service at fair prices is a treat, and a luxury.. There are some in TX/AK area, but don't know about Humble...
As for used Airstream sources, here are the big 4:
1. The classifieds HERE...
2. The classifieds at The Vintage Airstream Club
3. craigslist: san francisco bay area classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events , though the scammers that have been playing on e-bay for years are moving over there by now... Be very careful if you can't physically see it, touch it and handle title and funding directly with seller with ID and local permanent address/history.. They also require you to define your geographic parameters, as they have subsets by state or city...
4. RV Trader Magazine Online- New and Used RVs for Sale You'll need to set search parameters to avoid new or 2006-2007 Airstream travel trailers, as they will account for 70% of listings under Airstream in the category, and many are dealer listings.
Cheers!
