Howdy from Texas

Hello everyone. Just wanted to say, hello from Texas. We're in the process of buying our first Airstream, and might be poking around and asking silly questions. So thanks in advance for letting us pull up a chair. We've been fulltiming for a year and a half, and wouldn't have it any other way.

Howdy...back at you from Georgia,

If you are looking at a Vintage Airstream TT you came to the right place. I purchased a Vintage Airstream 2 months ago and we have been very happy with our decision, in large part because of the people here.

The folks here are so knowledgeable and helpfull. I had a thousand questions and through prior post research and personal contacts every question and worry I had was answered.

If fact I just came from being outside "sprucing up" our 1968 24' Airstream Tradewind. I replaced a lock, adding a new custom fit cutting board over the sink, replaced a strap, and stored a new set of his and her's loungers chairs we just bought on sale.

Everytime I research one of our Airstream's systems I am impressed by the quality and straight forward engineering.

Whatever you select, the folks her are a wealth of information.

Good luck,

Keith and Debby

Hey there! Welcome aboard. As Keith suggested, the more you dig through these post the happier you will be when you find your rig. I bought first and read second...whoops! Could have saed myself a lot of headaches. Certainly helps if you are putting together an older rig as there are so many things to consider with Air Streams. (Not to mention towing questions).

What are you looking for? Looking for something ready to go or something to ...er...personalize. Several old units have shown up here of late. THe latest three include an 73 Avion in functional shape needing some imagination, a smaller AS, mid sixties I think, with much started and lots unfinished, and a single axle which is a step above a shell. I expect if you are full timing though, you may be looking for newer stock as more tha a few folks have reported woes with the infamous "your trailer is too old" for our park.
Are you aimed for vast distance or planing to stay fairly local? Come on down to "hill country" and play in the lakes. You folks have some pretty nice spots "back east" in Texas

Keep us posted

welcome stowaways from another airstream owner. don't ever worry about asking a "silly" question. around here there is no such thing! we have all been there (needing questions answered) and many of us are still there! you have found the first of many answers already just by finding this site. take some time and read through the forum streams that interest you. it is a great bunch of people here!

Here goes my second attempt..my last post went to that space on the net where post written when you forget to sign on go Welcome aboard!

AS Keith said, this is certainly the place you want to be before and after you find your Airstream. I came aboard after I bought mine, and certainly could have saved some effort and money if i read through the forum first...both with reguard to my trailer and my tow vehicle. That said, now the forum is the most important tool in my tool box!

What are you looking for? I expect since you are allready full timing you might be hunting a newer unit, unless you are looking for more challange and a good place to invest lots of energy Of late, three older units have shown up out my way (actually in Liberty Hill TX) One is an Avion, I think a 73 31in operational shape wanting some tlc. Another is an older rig, I think a 24', with many unfinished projects but looking like it has potential, and an older single axle GobeTrotter that is a step or to above a shell.

There are plenty of them out there

Keep us posted

What a great quote airstreamers. We're actually eyeing a 2007 27" Sig Series International...FTiming in a 5th wheel now (parked in FW for at least the next year) and thinking an Airstream might be a better alternative. Less maintenance, better long term investment...emotionally and financially from what we can tell. ; )
