Hopeful new owners

Hello to all,

My wife and I are very excited about our future Airstream, although we do not have one picked out as of yet. We have been doing our research and have found this forum to be an excellent source of information. Thank you all for sharing your great experiences and we look forward to joining the club.

Welcome aboard!
Hey, this is the place, and I love to hear of folks researching before they buy. I got that backwords and while I have no regrets, what the folks here have to say would have saved me much aggrivation. That goes for if you are thinking of a new purchase as well.

I am, like many here, a glutton for punishment and enjoy attacking a vintage A.S. Had a Square Old Box but there is just something about an Air Stream. You don't just get a get a community.

If your going vintage, see the many threads on frames, floors and especially tow vehicles. IF you go vintage, the amount of work depend on what the previous owners have done and if you consider upgrades or complete remodles (hey, some like original, some like custome, no rules here

You've got folks like me here to tell you what I did wrong (learn from others mistakes) and folks like Andy who can set you on path right from the start.

Good hunting! Let folks know what you are looking for and chance are someone here will point you in the right direction.

Best of Luck

Cool Welcome from the Heartland....

We, like many here, found the Forums after the purchase. The information has been without question, a God-send.

We have owned our trailer for 3 years, but he hasn't been on the road yet. We are, however, beginning to see daylight at the end of the long silver tunnel. We are doing a combination restore-remodel. We've kept what we could but replaced the worn out and unsafe (and the leaky) items.

Good luck on your search. You never know when and where you will find your "dream home". I found ours in an alley when I was hitting the garage sales one day. Wasn't looking - just stumbled across it.

Wow, what great responses! I have posted on other forums for some of my hobbies, but the people here have been very helpful and kind. Funny that no sooner does Slowolf mention Moosetags and there is a post. Thank you for the offer Moosetags, that is one of the models we are interested in and we would love to take a look sometime. Our decision is between the Safari 25 and the 27 FB SE.....just trying to decide if the north/south bed is better suited for us. I have been to a couple of dealers in central FL since I am down here working for a few weeks and it has been very enjoyable. I will keep you posted on the search. Thank you all again for your help.

We have a great 29' 1987 Sovereign that has been re-decorated by professional interior designer in cool shades of brown with turqoise, lime and hot pink accents. Everything works fine, new refridgerator. We had 2 great winters in Baja and one in FL. Love everything about it but the twin beds, want to sell this and find another in a year or so, think we'll do Mexico or Hawaii next winter. We are asking $11,000. Lynn, Iowa

Thank you for the offer and she sounds nice, but I think we are in the 2005 and later models. Good luck with yours though.

Tryinus, You are as Beth mentioned so fortunate to have found the Forums
before your purchase.

We searched (not aware of the Forums) for 2 years before we found ours. And we REALLY did not know if we were making the right decision.

We THINK ours is ready for travel...soon. Time will tell. Search the Forums
for questions answers BEFORE you buy. Good Luck.

I have become consumed with researching our future AS. It is so fun and challenging to gather all the information I can to meet our criteria. Hopefully "the purchase" will happen some day soon and we can join you all out on the road.
