Hello All,
We actually joined AirForums back in Feb 2012 during our search, but didn't want to post an intro until we had a trailer. So after over a year of searching for "the perfect vintage trailer", Jana has finally got hers - a restored
1960 Avion T20 which she found online in Albuquerque (ABQ). It was rescued by a very nice couple in ABQ who gave it some TLC between about 07-09, who enjoyed it up until this year.
We were looking for an already restored trailer, as hubby Tom (me) already has his hands full with the care & resto of 3 classic cars (`73 Porsche 914-2.0, `85 BMW 325e E30, `88 VW Vanagon CamperGL "Westfalia"), & our 1921 Craftsman home already - and didn't need another project (although this will need some upkeep/TLC too). And we're
not getting any younger, now both in our 60's!
I suppose you'd call it a Resto-Mod, since the prior owners changed some things from the original in the galley & with new countertops, drapes, upholstery & flooring - but most are vintage look, except the SS appliances. PO's did some work themselves & some by Larry Hill of his former Retro Restorations in ABQ. The body skin appears to have been polished before in that resto, but not recently redone.
Here is a pic from the trip bringing it home to SoCal from ABQ - stopped at the Gallup NM Wally-mart for supplies. I'll post more at the Vintage Kin forums.
