Hi and Thank you!

The camping gods wanted my family in an airstream.
The wife and I knew we wanted a camper, she didn't know it was most likely going to be an airstream until I got her in a Sport and 25 at JD Sanders in N Central FL a few years back. A move to VA later, we were returning from a weekend at Floyd [Flood] Fest with the folks and staying in their big pop-up. Our two kids did wonderful, and as a result we entertained the idea of the being ready for the camper again. Like a lot of folks Ive been searching for airstreams for a while, and that Sunday after the festival I checked craigslist and there it was in our own city!
A retired couple, wonderful people, were selling their 08 23 FB Safari. They had put close to 30k on her, since purchasing the Safari; however they never used the kitchen or the awning, so this beauty was truly lightly used or like new. I grew to change my mind about the 23 FBs layout real quick, and today I truly love the flow of the layout. The camping gods wanted my family in an airstream, and I am forever grateful.

I think well mainly be weekend warriors at the state parks here in VA, and hopefully make 1-2 trips a year (probably along the east coast) for an extended camp. I am currently planning a summer trip to Acadia, and a spring trip to Fort Desoto.

This forum has been a wonderful aid over the years for a lot of technical answers; I probably wont contribute much, unless the conversation moves towards beer and music.

Best

Welcome and Congratulations on the purchase of a gently used shiny silver trailer.
Get out there and enjoy it. Are you signed up for the Canopener rally in January?

And if you go north from FLOYD about 20 miles on 221 you'll find Virginia Highland Haven, an Airstream only park. Beautiful views - opens in April I think.

Thanks for the welcome and the suggestions for camping. January in the panhandle sounds wonderful, sad to say I won't be there. I'm sure they will be watching some football on the 6th around those parts.
Also, thanks for the Floyd suggestion, we had a great time over there, but missed the show at the Floyd country store, so it's back on the list of to do's.

Welcome to the "family"... need to rush out and get some New Belgium Accumulation ale, it has a silver trailer on the label. There a two threads on the board (somewhere) about it.

Lots of places to camp along the East Coast. We typically go to the NC mountains or the SC coast.

Welcome

Welcome to the Forums and congratulations on your Airstream.

By the way, when did the conversation move AWAY from beer and music?

Enjoy every opportunity,

Roy
