Hi all- new member in BC
Hello everyone. I just joined the forum. We bought a '52 flying Cloud last June. It needs some work, such as a bathroom, water system, converter, etc., to make it really useable. So hopefully that will begin to take place as soon as the tow vehicle gets it's new motor, etc. Or when I can find another "round-2-it" My tow vehicle is a 1954 Ford Country Sedan Station Wagon, which is losing it's 351W motor in favour of a 390. That will help with the hills, and I should be able to keep up to Safari57 when we travel together.

Welcome to the forums! I was wondering when we'd hear from you (we met at TCT). Looking forward to hearing about your work on the Flying Cloud.

How's it goin' eh.
I used to live at Chilliwack and my son presently is a Cpl in the RCAF at Comox.
If I can contribute anything from a Canadian viewpoint, let me know.

Eventually....and thanks for the welcome
EVENTUALLY I do get around to things. It took me a while to actually join the forum because I was busy with other things, like grandchildren, cars, house, etc. I also publish a list of automotive events for BC & NW Washington, that takes about 3 months every fall to compile. If anyone is interested in what is going on in BC, you can go to Event List. I have included a picture of the wagon and trailer that was taken after we got the trailer home and washed it. The other pics are of the inside as we bought it, and as it will stay until the car is finished. Which hopefully will be soon. I'm anxious to get started on the trailer.

The Flying Cloud is beautiful! Do you think you'll be bringing it to this year's TCT rally?
Oh, and why didn't you want to name the trailer "Uncle Barry"?

Mel I didn't want to name it "uncle Barry" because his head is already big enough. If it got any bigger he'd never fit into his hat. And then there is the "Shinier" thing.
the FC will be at TCT if it is ready, but I'm not promising. I don't want to rush it, and it is supposed to be a hobby.

Good point. We have enough trouble keeping him in line as it is!

HEY - I resemble those remarks......
Mel,
the problem is that Lee's trailer as found dirty and needing a real home was already shinier than mine after four hard years of work on my part. His has the deluxe interior, neat things like the front gaucho seats are little hide-a-beds and they have springs in them. He has real mattresses and the list goes on. But it's the shiny thing. I find the guy a nice trailer, we use my truck to tow it to his place, and then he has the gall to wash it and it's embarrassingly way shinier than mine. Hmmmmm, I'm thinking it would be kind of him to leave it at home this year (and next would be even better)

You see, that's why I can't reveal the location of the Clipper. You'd take it home and rehab it, and it would be beautiful, and then I'd just get all bitter because it was cooler than any of the toys we have.

Nothing could be cooler than your trailers Mel. Especially the one with the blow up doll - oops, I mean blow up flamingo that leaks down overnight.
Just think, that Clipper would have such a loving, caring home, albeit Donna would kill me, but then I wouldn't have to feel bad that everyone Else's trailers are shinier than mine...
