Thanks for the advice. I will certainly take it! When I got home with my new trailer, it was already dark. I live at the end of a court, and I knew it was possible to back a trailer into my driveway, because my son has done it in the past with a trailer about the same size as my Airstream. But after numerous stabs at getting lined up with my driveway, and failing, my neighbor took pity on me and came out and offered to park it for me. He, of course, got it in the right position on the right-hand side of my driveway on the first try. Of course, it has now sat there in the same spot without moving for 3-4 days, so it is definitely time to get some parking lot practice!

Went back to your original post and saw you've never pulled a trailer before (and your recent one about the neighbor backing it in your driveway for you). I never towed until last year myself. I HIGHLY recommend taking your trailer to a local commercial truck driving school that teaches RV driving/safety classes. My wife and I did this over a weekend for about $500 and it was money well spent for the confidence and peace of mind we got out of it

And yes, we even learned to parallel park our 27' trailer (50' with truck attached) and yes, my wife got it exactly right the first try while I required some remedial assistance.

Great investment from my perspective that paid off the entire year and I expect will continue to going forward.

Congratulations! You will get addicted fast! Nothing like waking up in an Airstream and enjoying your morning beverage of choice (don't ask about the best coffee makers or you'll get bombarded. Enjoy! Hope the pup enjoys too!
