Question HELP me OUT of my Coast to Coast Membership!

I'm so stupid and fell for the Coast to Coast Membership Scam.

I really thought that I was going to save money and live a great retirement after serving 23 years in the military with the CCMembership.

Well things changed and I have not used it one time and I can't get out of it.

Anyone have any ideas on how to get out of this? I just can't use it and don't like paying for what I can't use. I would even just chalk up what I have paid in as just a loss but I can't seem to get out of it.

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

First off, welcome to thew Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

Enlighten us. What did you pay for this thing, and what is the annual cost? I have looked on Ebay. There are some of these for sale there.

Brian

I had one for years, finally tired of fees and stopped paying out, no market for resale so I just let it have a quiet death.

I, too, would like to know more about how C to C works. I've read good and bad about it.

You can sell your membership online or through advertising....we have seen lots of ads for camping club memberships in the back of RV magazines...check out that possibility. You'll probably take a hit on it but it's better than continuing to pay for it... (If I were going to buy one of those deals I'd buy it that way...lots of savings to have by going that route.)

To get in CC; I paid:
Member ship price: 5995.00
Enrollment fee: 595.00
Membership Dues are 139.95 a year.

Also: Base Camp, I paid:
396.00 a year

I really thought I was going to use this and if I didn't make up my mind that day the SPECIAL deals he was giving me would go away. If I had taken a few days to think this over I wouldn't have done it. I tried to think it as an investment...not really a smart thing to do if you were not going to be a FULL time camper.

Sorry that you paid so much of your hard earned money for something that you will not be using. I guess that I would just sell it on Ebay with no reserve.

I don't know that it's a "scam".. many think it's an "investment", then find it's not, or that they will travel/camp a lot.. then don't. Neither of those makes it a scam.. they make it an unwise purchase..

You can sell it, most absolutely at a loss.. or, as many people do, just stop paying the dues.

We have TTN, parents pay for it, but I have looked at buying theirs or one elsewhere, they can be had for the transfer fee if you look around, I suspect CtoC is the same, thus crushing resale value..

A membership at a campground is good.. if you are going to use it. We only have 1 TTN close, but a couple nice ones within 4 hours tow or so. But that's the midwest.. nearly everything is a drive.. lol.
