Hello to Airstream!

Hi Everybody,
I am a long time lurker and soon to be a first time buyer. I've been wanting an Airstream since I can remember and now I'm ready.
I'm looking at a 1994 21ft Sovereign. It several states away. The pics look great and the price is right. The question I want to post to the learned group is if there is anything I should be watching out for in that model year. Any hidden "gotchas".
I appreciate whatever help you can give me.

Thanks,
Lance

Greetings from the Florida Panhandle

Welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

I guess if you are a long time lurker, you have probably read a lot of the threads about the Airsatreams of that era. Appliances are big ticket items if they need replacement. I would make sure that thew refrigerator and air conditioner are in good working order.

Look for evidence of leaks and soft spots in the floor. If if the tires look good, they may need to be replaced due to age.

SuEllyn has a cousin who lives in Camarillo. We were there visiting last May. We stayed in a campground in Oxnard.

Diito to the Welcome!!

I don't know that there is anything specific to your model but water intrusion is an issue in most trailers at some point. For us sealing seams is a standard maintenance ritual along with annual bearing service.

Appliances are expensive (to me anyway) and replacing them can be a significant hit to one's wallet. The other often overlooked item is tire condition and age. Most trailer tires age-out long before they wear-out.

Best of luck,

Kevin
