Hello! Newbie here from the Sunshine State..
We have been looking, praying, wanting a travel trailer for a few years now. We have finally found it. A 1984 Argosy 24ft. We will be purchasing it this week!
We are from the Sunny Florida Panhandle. My husband is a Union Boilermaker. He's been traveling the roads for the past 4 years, leaving me and our daughter behind most of the time. Now we are going to be able to pack up and ride out with him. Our daughter is 1 1/2 years old and I had hoped that we could travel around with my husband until our daughter has to start school.
Our 1st year Wedding is June 23rd. I was hoping to go to Graceland and now that seems like it might actually happen!

I will get out the camera as soon as we purchase our Argosy. We're gonna take some before and after pictures. Everything works, everything is in good condition just needs a good cleaning and a little interior decorating. I've now become obsessed checking out what other folks have done with their interiors. The outside is painted but we're hoping we can get the chrome look. Project!

Here is the exact model/layout of ours...
My husband gave me the wrong year, it's a 1972 Argosy 24ft. I found some pictures of the exact same model/layout. We are making payments on ours over the next 3 weeks so I haven't been able to take pictures yet. But here are some pics that I found on the internet:

We have a 78, 24ft Argosy. They are great trailers and some of the best looking vintage ones. I have recently purchased a vintage Airstream and believe me the Argosy is much easier to work on and much easier to keep up the exterior painted surface. Remember that the Argosy end caps (top on each end) are not aluminum, but steel. If you were wanting to take the paint off your Argosy and shine it up (oh no!), you would not be able to do this to the end caps. You may get a lot of comments like "Oh, I thought it was an Airstream" from people, but all you have to tell them is that it IS an Airstream, one of the painted ones. After three years I still enjoy working on the Twink, and now his much bigger brother. Your family is in for some wonderful times in this trailer. Let me know if there is anything you need help with in your renovation.

Hello
I live on the beach along with Luckyducks. They to live out here.It is nice to see more people join in around the local area here. There are not that many with Airstreams in the Bay County area and withing the last year they have been popping up slowly. There are also a few in the Destin and Ft.Walton area also.
Welcome to the forums.

We were going back and forth about it and finally came to the conclusion that we are going to paint it black with a red stripe down the side and her name will be "The Black Pearl" you know like from The Pirates of the Caribean. That will set the theme for the inside too. We found some tattoo looking fabric that we want to recover the sofa thingy with. We'll go from there. First we gotta finish paying for it. It's in great shape, I can't get over that. They painted the cabinets on the inside, which we are hoping to strip them down to the original, do you think that will work? Any suggestions??

Welcome, ckelly! There's a bunch of us here in the southeast, and back in January we got together as a group at Topsail. In mid April we will be getting together at Springstream - in Hiawassee, GA if you can join us!
Either way, welcome to the forum! This is a great group - and there's a ton of useful info.
