Hello from Vermont, with a "new" Argosy 24 MH
I'm very excited to find this forum. I used to own a 1974 Cortez, and because so few were made, and so few survived, there was almost no one to turn to for help! I'm now the proud owner of a 1974 Argosy rear bath Motorhome I purchased from a friend's parents. It had a cracked windshield, which they didn't know where to find a replacement for, and I think they were just tired of working on keeping it up. After all, they had owned it for 25 years...
I continue to be impressed by the quality of materials and workmanship I find on this 30 year old coach, and she can handle 70 MPH even in the hills of VT.
I got it for $2500, and have promptly put more than twice that into it to get the suspension up to snuff (very scarey 400 mile ride home!) and for the new windshield. Before the snow flies, I'm hoping to have new Ramco mirrors for safety, and new wiper arms. I've already found Inland RV to be invaluable for new exterior window trim (maddeningly difficult to replace and remove from the center sections) and for some crumbling interior plastic parts.
I may have to wait for the spring before I can get the rubber hoses and fuel lines replaced in the engine compartment, but by early summer, I'm hitting the road!
