Hello from the Pacific Northwest!

Hi!
I'm Bren. I have a gutted 1969 Airstream that my older brother bought at a garage sale. I'm currently planning on redoing the interior over the summer but wanted to talk to other Airstream owners before attempting that. I'm really interested in the idea of a tiny wood stove inside. Does anyone have experience with that?

Hi Brenna,

I wish I could advise you, but I'm a newbie with airstreams. I just had to smile because my husband said today, "wish we could put a log-stove in an airstream". I thought it was a cool coincidense.

Congrats on your new AS.

Valerie

Welcome Bren to the forums.

I'm just north of you in Port Hadlock, campground hosting at the county Oak Bay Campground.

Carlos Ferguson's thread is an old one, but a great one. He put a wood stove in his.

cheers,
steve

They make some really nice (albeit expensive!) cast iron small wood stoves for sail boats.

ShipMate Stove Company Inc. - your source for classic solid fuel boat stoves, heaters and sinks.

A more reasonable model might be

Amazon.com: Dickinson Marine 00-NEWSF Newport Solid Fuel Heater: Patio, Lawn & Garden

I've had it for a few years now and have stayed in it on and off and had it double as a studio space, but need to really put some work into it. Before I got it, the original owner was using it to store fire wood. They cut some holes into the lining above one of the windows, exposing the insulation, messed around with the wiring, etc. I think I need to basically just do a major repair session, which is overwhelming. She recently sprung a leak along one of the top seams as well. So much to do! I'm so glad to have found this site, I'm so excited!
