Hello from the Broadhurst Family
Rich here. I've read a lot of great information here and came to the decision you all should know who's been secretly learning from everyones trials and errors.
Happy husband and father of 2 little girls. Currently located in northern Tennessee. I traded some labor for our Argosy TT about a year ago. Interested in full-timing, and recently convinced the lovely wife of how great an idea and lifestyle it would be for us and the wee ones. I'll need to find an appropriate career to allow us to take the leap. The Argosy needs a few things done before we are to embark. Expensive things, of course.
I need to do a little more reading in the new members area and the welcome email to see where I can begin to tell our story and that of our Argy.
It has been, and still is, a pleasure reading and following the fantastic threads here in this forum.
Thanks for having us aboard.
Regards, Richard.

Thank you, indeed & Kevin! From what I have read and seen personally, my children's children (far off hopefully) should be having an adventure in this rig.

I was wondering whether your Argosy 28 might be a rear bedroom. I believe that 1975 was the first year that the Argosy 28 rear bedroom came equipped with front and rear Panoramic windows. This was one of the features pioneered in the Argosy line that then made the transition to the Airstream product line. The greatest difference between the Panoramic windows utilized in Airstream and Argosy is that the Airstream version has always had solar gray tinting while all Argosy Panoramic windows were clear. Today, protecting the original clear Panoramic windows is critical as the only new replacements are the Solar Gray tinted variety utilized in Airstreams. Many first generation Argosy owners install the three-piece Airstream rock guards to protect the front Panoramic windows . . . or the padded canvas protector covers discussed in several threads here on the Forums.
Good luck with your Argosy 28!
Kevin

Kevin,
You are correct. It is a rear bedroom. The panoramic windows are very nice, and happen to be flawless. The front two are untinted, with the 3 piece tinted rock guards installed. (I had to dig through 4 extremely packed storage sheds to find them.) The rear panoramic windows are clear, with poorly installed window tint on them.
Thank you for the history lesson. All that I know about these trailers I've learned from this community.
Regards,
Richard.
I wouldn't mind having a set of the lower rock guards. No mounting hardware on my Argy.

I don't think there's any pre-installed mounting hardware on a new Airstream for the lower guards (called "segment protectors" since they'd already called the window covers "rock guards" when they started offering the lower ones.) They just put the brackets one when they're installing the segment protectors, as far as I know. So, you might be able to use the factory part, though it would clash with the Argosy paint.
I'm very jealous, by the way. I'd love to have a rear-bedroom Argosy trailer. If I accidentally stumble across a nice one for sale before I can afford to keep 2 I'll have a problem...

Segment protectors are on the need list. They're not high on the list, but they're there. They'd be painted the same color as the TT. I just freed up 2 corroded stabilizers this morning. The third is broken, the fourth MIA.

You can find replacement stabilizers at Out-of-Doors Mart. They aren't that far from you so shipping shouldn't be to bad.

$60.00 each plus shipping, unless I wanted the set of four. As a temporary solution, I have two scissor jacks stabilizing the rear. Not sure if I'll just get 2, or get the 4 pack in case the others fail.

Thanks Happy Campers. We are happy to be a part of the club. I followed Costalotta's transformation last week. Nice work. I hope I don't have to invest that much money, but I bet I will. It looks like it was worth it!

Hi Rich! We're new on here too. Just purchased our 2012 Bambi Sport last week end. Tomorrow we go get all the hitch work done. If you've been following the forums, you know that's a WHOLE other story. (; Have fun, and all the best in your travels! Oh! I had to edit because I forgot to tell you that I'm from Nashville. (:
