Hello from Sunny Fallbrook
Hi Everyone,
So I've been with this amazing group since 2014,but never really introduced myself, soon here goes....
Im Paul Newman (yes, just like the actor, but not the actor..haha)
I am a retired Marine (did 21 years) Im originally from up in the Pacific Northwest (Oregon) but during my military career Ive lived all over the US. I currently live down here in a little town called Fallbrook. Its literally right behind MCB Camp Pendleton! I love anything outdoors from camping, and fishing to hiking and target shooting..
I can proudly say that I own a 99 LandYacht. (31 footer) I am the 3rd owner of this snazzy Fiberglass steed! Its currently got 73,000 miles on her. (10,000 of those are from me) Since owning her, Ive had my own fair share of issues...
(Previous owners just plug and played everywhere they went) So the main water pump leaked all under the back bed when we started using it, then the Generator was never ran.. it was serviced but never used so I had to rebuild the carburetor (which people say you can't do) which can and was done.
Then something up by the inverter sparked and fried the convection oven. (never did get that fully sorted out...) I ended up replacing the microwave and its worked fine ever since.. Then there was the leaky front passenger side window that would leak and soak the front carpet. (it took literally removing the window and resealing it and replacing the outer screws to finally get it sealed. Theres other minor things as well, but these joys come with being the owner of a somewhat non existent Class A. (I know cause Ive called Airstream several times trying to find replacement parts and they keep reminding me that they don't make or sell parts for them anymore).
I do have a few questions for the experts here..
1. How can I get the front tv to work on inverter power? (the back bedroom one runs off the inverter) I have traced a totally separate outlet that is right beside the front tv area, but everytime i plug into it, theres no electrical current (except when Im plugged into shore power or running the generator)
2. Cruise Control not working: When having the coach engine serviced, the techs broke the brake light switch located down by the pedal.(they say it just broke when they were out on a QC Test ride) They said that the brake lights just quit working and that they replaced the switch...now however my cruise control doesn't work, and I dont know how to go about fixing it..
any help with these would be great, or if anybody knows of a great service center that actually knows airstreams down in the San Diego, Riverside, LA county area.
Make it a great day/weekend
Paul
