Smile Hello from Ohio

Hi, first post. I own a 1968 Overlander. I have owend this camper for 5 years, and I love it. It is all original, but someone added a AC unit at sometime. It still has the original tv and antenna. This camper is stored inside and towed no more than 15 miles a year. I camp on my own land. The best part about my camper is that everything works, down to the NASA style insterment panel. We love our silver bullet, and I am in the process of buying another. Thank you for viewing this post, I am just happy to be part of this forum.

Albino.

Welcome aboard! With your obvious passion for Airstreams, you should be at home here. Pictures of that 68 would sure be nice.

Welcome!

I hope you enjoy yours as much as we enjoy ours. You've gotta post pictures for the restorers to see what the original really looked like.

Hi Albino, welcome! Sounds like you've got a gem of an Airstream there - care to post some pictures so we can all admire it? We love pictures.

Thumbs up

Thanks All, I am getting the Airstream out of storage this week and will put up some pics of her. I have a couple of questions, but I'll wait to put up the pics to post them. The camper is in original condition, not as shiny as some of the ones I've seen on here. I purchased it from a family who used it to camp at our local fair, fairs are a big to-do in rural areas. The awning is not original, I bought a JC Witney one to replace it, the original arms are missing. The interior is original, but we are going to put new curtains in this summer. Also, I just love the owners manual. Funny to see all towing illustrations with a station wagon as the tow vehical. More to come.

Thanks again,

Albino.

Hi Fellow Ohioan

We would love to see your trailer. We have had a couple of OH Forums rallies. It was lots of fun. Maybe if this warm spell stays around we can get another rally thread started. And maybe you can join us! Welcome to this friendly site.
We want to see pictures too!!

Greetings , I was born in Upper Sandusky. Not sure if I ever went to the fair while visiting Grandmother , but most likely I have. Still attend family reunion when I can at Camp Trinity in Upper Sandusky. Hope we can set up a Ohio rally again , went to Clare-Mar last year for one. I will try to make any that my work schedule allows this year. I want to try the electric sites being installed at Findlay State park and We also want to go to Mohican to canoe.

Greetings From Lorain!

Welcome to the forum! I've been reading for months, and still have a ways to go.....

BTW, Calahan Brakes was is Sandusky, a completely different community than Upper Sandusky. "Sandusky" is actually further North than "Upper Sandusky". Go figure.

It is called Upper Sandusky because it is on the upper part of the Sandusky river. Upstream or Upper and Downsteam is Lower is the way I was allways taught. I have met Upper Sandusky People in several work projects and they have had to tell their co-workers "see he understands" as no one seems to beleive the explanation until verified by a second person.

Thank You for explaining the location, I still run into people looking for Cedar Point.
