Smile Hello from new Air Forum members

Paul and I would like to introduce ourselves to this forum. Paul is a Vietnam Vet who enjoys meeting other veterans and I am a yarn enthusiast who loves knitting, crocheting and sewing. We are new here, but by no means new to the RV lifestyle. We have owned campers for most of our nearly 46 years of marriage, making the usual progression through slide-in, popup, converted cargo trailer, travel trailer, fifth wheel and motor home. After we retired, we had a 2008 Tiffin Phaeton 40QDH and then a 2011 Allegro Bus 43QRP. We loved our motor homes, having spent two years full-timing in them, but sold the Bus just last month to downsize and simplify a bit. For the way we want to travel now, a travel trailer makes sense for us. Since the Tiffin RV forum was a great source of information and interaction with fellow RV owners, we joined this forum while we were "just looking."

Now we've made the transition - well, almost. Last week we traded our 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Summit for our 2015 Ram 2500 Laramie and yesterday we ordered our 2016 30' Airstream Classic in macadamia interior with dark counter tops - expected delivery in December. We look forward to reading posts from our fellow Airstream owners, especially with tips on vacation traveling with our two young granddaughters, and to meeting some of you on the road once we take delivery of our Classic. We hope to see you soon!

Paul and Linda

Paul & Linda,

Welcome from Hartsville SC. If you guys can get to Alumalina this Sept. at Palmetto Cove you'll get to say hi to over 80 rigs and counting. Sandlapper is chief Possum herder for the event. Details are in rally section.

Gary

Gary,

We would love to make it to Palmetto Cove (who wouldn't want to meet the chief Possum) but I don't think September will work for us this year. We don't take delivery of our Classic until December.

Hope to see you down the road in the future.

Thanks,
Paul

Scared Me there for a minute. I thought Alumalina was October 22/24. Went and checked "CALENDAR" and it says October. (I think the initial plan was september but that didn't work out?)

Dear Paul & Linda - More than a few "still looking" people come to these rallies, so if you have that weekend free, bring your current rig, whatever it is and join us. If you don't have a rig bring a tent.

Paula,

Thanks , but we will be in Florida during that time. Hope to make it next year. I'm not sure that I could crawl out of a tent. LOL

Welcome, we are pretty new Airstreamers also. We are up the road on Lake Norman. We are really enjoying our 2013 International as we spent a month on the road out west this summer and a month in the NE summer prior. Headed to FL for a month this winter. Well see how well that works for us. Hope you didn't miss the post from yesterday, how to shower in a RV, still chuckling over that one. Travel safe.

Thanks guys, this is my 4th Dodge Ram. I enjoyed the last three and the technology certainly has improved.
We have booked a month at Land Yacht Harbor starting February 1st, then we will spend a week at LazyDays in Tampa.
Last winter we we're in Florida for seven months. Too long.

Yup got the month wrong but still consider a day trip or something to the Cove for Alumalina. Big gathering offers chances to get lots of how dat work questions answered.

If we haven't left for Florida, we might just drop in.
