Hello from Kansas
I feel fortunate to have found this forum.
My husband and I have dreamed of owning an AS for over a decade. I love the look and style of all Airstreams, but my husband loves ANYTHING vintage. We’re hoping to find a restored AS from the 50s or 60s.
For now we wait and search, but hopefully we shall be owners soon.
Wish us luck.
Melissa

Hello Melissa, greetings from central Kentucky and welcome to the forum. There are a number of Airstreams available in the Classifieds section. It's one of the drop downs near the top. Good luck in your search, be sure to post here when you've brought it home.

Melissa - Welcome to the forum. Learn all you can before you make a jump. Give give these folks a call. They renovate ASs and are located in Marion. That's not too far away for you to check out.

Melissa - had another thought. The Airstream factory has a bunch of vintage ASs that are supposed to eventually go in a museum. They sit in a big parking lot now. The new production building is going up now and is supposed to include that museum. May only have the 3-5 that are significant to Airstream, but it may truly be the historic resource for vintage trailer folks. Keep an ear to the ground on progress.

Note - the two links above are your local (relatively speaking) AS club and the National/international group - Used to be the WBCCI, but a few changes are in process to make the group more user friendly.

Hi Michelle - I work in Lawrence (live in KC) and am nearly completed with a renovation of a 1968 Tradewind (see link below). In doing so, I've learned a lot about these old trailers. Happy to help if you have specific questions. Also, there is an active group of folks from the NE KS area that meet up in KC a few times a year to see each others renovation progress. Keep an eye out on Slats (Dale) and my renovation threads. We typically work out the details there. Brian

Welcome from Colorado, your neighbor state to the west. We've had family in Kansas City area since the early seventies. It seems like home to me.
I too enjoy vintage Airstreams. You can learn all about them here on these Forums. I equate them to vintage cars. Cool, but not necessarily modern. I've renovated a couple of vintage trailers with more modern appliances, plumbing, beds and the like. I don't like the vintage experience of trying to light a pilot light on the water heater in the dark and in the rain. I like pushing the start button if you know what I mean.
Jump in and ask questions. Folks here are very helpful. You will enjoy these Forums and the vintage Airstream hobby.
