Hello from Grapevine Texas

We are looking to purchase our second Airstream. Our first was a 2008 International 23D and our TV was a 2007 Toyota Sequoia. The Sequoia was a champ at towing the 23D with an Equalizer weight distribution hitch. Our TV this time around will be the 2017 Audi Q7. The Q7 is rated at a maximum towing capacity of 7,700#s. That's great! The catch is the maximum weight on the hitch of the Q7 is rated at 770#s and a weight distribution hitch is off limits. "The vehicle was not designed for these kinds of trailer hitches. The hitch attachment can fail, causing the trailer to tear loose from the vehicle". That being said, what's holding us back from making the plunge into purchasing the 23FB is the safety issue. Is a combination of sway control adapter and friction sway control enough? We have followed the forum for several months now and are truly appreciative of the sound / knowledgeable advice the membership generously shares.
