Hello from AZ
Hello,
I wanted to introduce myself to everyone. I actually joined the forum about a month ago but have been just sitting back and reading.
I am an Airstream Dreamer at the moment even though I currently have a Class A RV. It just doesn't work for me to pick up and explore. Once you park it, you don't want to pick up and go and check out the cool things that may be nearby. I want the ability to park and then go and explore.
I have been dreaming of the Bambi 16, but a friend of mine brought the truth home to me about the combined tanks. "Imagine you are taking a shower and your tank backs up over your feet." Yep, my dreams of the 16 have been put away. The 17 would work for me - but I can't bring any friends along while traveling. So, now contemplating the 19 or the 22 (note that my Tow Vehicle is a 2016 Porsche Macan so I can only have 4500 - 5000 for tow weight and 441 for tongue weight).
I am currently in research and dream mode and hope to buy a used one next year (or if an AMAZING deal comes along on the perfect Airstream earlier) but will continue to read all of your thoughts and opinions.
Thanks for everyone's expertise!
Tara

Welcome Tara, the 16's are often snapped up quite quickly and often pricey if or even if they haven't had work done. Good luck on your search and acquisition.

Hi from Scottsdale. . . Welcome to the forums. .. . Desert Autoplex in Mesa has an '08 Safari Sport 17,(which I just traded in), which is a great ONE person trailer. If there are more of you, I would suggest a 22 Sport. We went away from a class C mh for the same reason, pack it up & un-hook to go out & about was a pain. . . trailer is a much better idea. . . . . . good luck & after your purchase, look in on us at the 4CU of 'the club'..........regards, Craig

Craig - I have been looking at your 17 online and I want to take a gander at it in person one of these days when I am in the valley (I live up in the Pinetop/Lakeside area). My big concern is being able to have a friend go camping with me and have a place to sleep but I would be all over the 17.
I was looking at the 22, but realized that there is no outside storage on it and now makes me wonder if it is the right one.
The dreaming will continue

Welcome MsTara, nice to meet you. Unhitching and exploring in the tow vehicle is one of the advantages of a pull behind trailer. Airstream trailers are easier to tow than the boxy ones. There are lots of systems to monitor on a trailer just like your motorhome. You are very unlikely to overflow a waste water tank if you keep an eye on things.
It does take some practice to get comfortable with conventional trailer towing, weather a 16 or a 22. Hitching, turning, braking, accelerating, and of course backing up all take some practice.
Keep on dreaming.

Good to have you join us, Tara.
Have you thought of towing a car behind your motorhome.
Your Mecan may even be a candidate.
There are challenges, such as being unable to back up while towing.
But it can mean having a fun car to use once you get there.
Cheers Richard
