Hello from Alabama

Been here for a while just haven't posted. I've been looking for an airstream for a while and finally bought one. My father and I own a big truck salvage yard so we buy some of our salvage from online salvage auctions.I'm always looking for a decent airstream on there that's not killed. I finally bought a 2012 25fb flying cloud for a really nice price but that nice price comes with strings as she has some hail damage to the end caps as you can see in the pics (sorry it was kind of dark in my shop). It is super clean and ready to camp in as is. Can't wait to get on the road with it not counting the 900 miles I drove pulling it home lol.

Somewhere in Texas heading home.

Great looking trailer, hail damaged or not. Congratulations! Seem to be a few of us Alabamaians scattered around the forums.

Thanks everyone. I really like it my wife on the other hand says it's to small. We also have a 38 ft class a diesel and she has gotten use to it. But I think she will come around or at least I hope so. Brought it home from my shop this afternoon so the wife can clean the inside (she's a clean freak) and I'm thankful for that as she will have it looking better than new. Stopped before I got home and snapped a few pics so the damage would be more visible. It's mainly front roof segment, few small pings in drivers long wall and the worst is between the drivers rear side windows. I can live with it.

Welcome to the forum and Airstreaming, if you can get the wife to get used to the smaller space. That's a really nice trailer and the dings are a good conversation starter at the campgrounds. When you're sitting inside, enjoying all the nice things about an AS you can't even see the dings. Nice acquisition, I hope you get to keep it.

Thanks. She's at home today giving the AS a good cleaning so maybe she will get more acquainted with it lol. Oh I'm keeping it I've wanted one for years and finally have one. We are headed out to Utah and Arizona in September in our class A then when we return I'm going to head to a state park with the AS for some camping time. I would try to talk her into carrying the AS instead of the class A out west but she is not leaving with out her jeep wrangler as she wants to ride Moab.

Hi from AZ. . . congrats on the purchase & welcome aboard ! ! ! Seems to me that a little hail damage is no big deal ! those panels (segments) are VERY expensive to replace, & don't have any impact on enjoying the AS. As long as we don't get too many 'Roll Tide' remarks, you're welcome here....... regards, Craig

But college football is one of the few things we have to brag about here in Alabama.

Miss that soooo bad!

Barbecue, in Alabama means pork. Nothing else.

For a short shakedown trip, try DeSoto State Park on Lookout Mountain. The campground was upgraded just a few years ago. I was raised just 10 miles from there. Very pretty in the fall. O yeah, RTR.

I think you got yourself a nice rig there. It's the Michael Phelps trailer, with "cupping" on it!

I was watching the Olympics and couldn't figure out what had happened to some of the swimmers with all those big red circles on them. The next day they did a short piece on the process that causes them and the benefits. I was like dang that has to hurt.

Got the AS finished up today.

Fixed the rubber beading in the front window protectors. It was starting to come out. A few tasty beverages helped me.

Washed curtains as they looked a little dirty. There much better now.

Parked it in my pole barn next to the class A and man does it look small but I love it and can't wait to spend some nights in it.

Welcome to the forms! Glad you found a nice unit to camp in. The hail damage is part of you A/S story and it might help to name your airstream. It might give the cuteness for your wife. And your class A has a buddy now! Enjoy the state parks join the WBCCI go camping with them they are fun folks. Love your Airstream.

Southern BBQ the best, meaning NC I suppose.. pork, cooked on wood fired grill, hand chopped and topped with a good vinegar base sauce.. MUMUMUM... (mouthdrowlingwasitype)

PS what is a "nice" price on salvage AS nowadays.. welcome to the club.
