My wife and I pulled a 31 foot travel trailer cross country a few years back. We were forced to abandon the "RV" way of life for a while and have become fascinated with Airstreaming. We actually haven't purchased yet but are looking seriously at a 1973 Ambassador 29'. It is in usable shape for weekend camps but will need a fair amount of work before we would consider pulling it cross country. This unit has a rear bedroom with a double bed. Can anyone tell me if this is a standard floorplan or has someone modified it?
Howdy lakefolks!
Sorry I'm not the one to answer your question but I'm sure qualified to welcome you to the forums & hope to hear more as you venture into Airstream territory ...

Thank you for the welcome! I visited the Airstream Website and found the answer to my question on models. It turns out the rear doublebed is an actual model or at least it was in 1973. Now we are dealing with the issue of no clear title. The Saga continues...
The 'no title' issue comes up with some regularity. Each individual state has their own procedures for re-titling vehicles/trailers. Your local dept of motor vehicles might have an idea or could refer you up the line to somebody with the answer. It supposedly isn't a huge barrier.
