Hello forum!

Although this isn't my very first post -- it's close -- it is high time I introduced myself properly, now that I finally read the "tips for new members" thread, so...

Hi all, I'm jd. My wife (Carolyn) and I ordered ourselves a 2007 20' Safari SE/LS "Beach Club" last month. We've confirmed the build order with Airstream, received the VIN, and have a scheduled build date at the end of September 2006. We anticipate delivery at the end of October, which I can tell you just isn't soon enough: this will be our very first trailer! The forum has been fantastically helpful to us in making our choice, as I've been lurking for many months now: thanks to all for sharing all your thoughts, tips, and advice.

Quirky thing: the build order from Airstream for our trailer was annotated with "this is the last VIN to be built with Beach Club interior." I haven't confirmed this independently, but already our AS seems that much more special to us (we really like that interior!)

Carolyn and I aren't retirees; we are both mid-career professionals, looking to spend more time together with our two little dogs. We're most interested in boondocking, and for our first "modifications" we're looking into a solar PV system augmented with a generator (I have my eye on that Yamaha EF2400is tri-fuel!). We're off to Camping World today for the first time, "just to look around" Anyway, that's it for now.

Welcome

Welcome J.D. and Carolyn. Do you really have 5 cats!

I know you are anxiously awaiting the arrival of your new baby and that you will have many years of enjoyment.

We are newbies here too but have been made to feel very welcome and at home. I know you will too.

Congratulations.

Jimmy and Marque

welcome. very cool. you're going to have a good time. Boondocking is the number one priority, as far as some of us are concerned (that's after us Vintage lovers get done fixing something or other, of course). You've got some great places right out your back door. Make sure you sign up for the Baja trip next year!

Welcome to the Forums. I'll bet you're really exited about getting your 20 footer. We need to see some baby pictures when you get her (or him).

You are so going to have a great time! Congratulations, I know your "due date" can't be soon enough. Uh, the first time I went into Camping World just to "look around" I walked out with an armload of stuff that I absolutely knew I would need. Have fun.

Thanks! We're down to 4 now, so the domain is more a historical reference. We've switched to dogs (they travel better), and plan to get no more kitties, but the one's we still have are a lot of fun!
Years ago, she had 3, and I had two: kind of a brady bunch thing
