Total newb to trailers, and on the cusp of purchasing a new 19CB.

I hope my ignorance isn't offensive. It'll show soon enough!

Wife and I have been boondocking in the Suburban and the Wrangler TJ for forever, but it's getting less comfortable to drag my carcass out of the tent at o-dark-thirty with each passing year.

Towing this little trailer with your burb should be easy..
And convenient. Stowing and accessing stuff in the back seats is easy and secure.

Do have the factory hitch inspected, and replaced of needed. There were many that broke from that era.

We have lots of tips around here about 'carcass dragging'... You'll fit right in.. and take comments/advice respectfully then use what works.

Many good youtube deals to watch... some are opiniated.. others are not... then some are factual and even legal.

It is nice to have your own 'house' wherever you go.. off the ground, inside with comfy temp when raining or snowing or boiling... and you can park small ones easier...

Then there are those who have the 34' Excella land yachts... our 1999 took us 7450 miles this summer and only problems were the door hinge I have been patching a couple loose rivets and our original fridge quit camping.

So.. get out there.. carefully.. if yo are a 'list' person, do the checklist drill for departure, landing, storage, disconnect

Good tip on getting the hitch inspected! It's now on the to-do list.
I have no idea who made the hitches on this thing, and have never actually used them. Lucked into the Suburban about 15 years ago when we were looking for another rig. Long story, for later. It's got all the goodies...trailer tow package, Z71 off road kit (before the Z71 stickers), 7.4 Vortex, 4l80e transmission, dual air, dual batteries...pretty much everything Chevy offered in 1999 on the Subs in that year. Haven't had a lick of trouble with it that wasn't self inflicted. Wife blew a front axle and a transfer case out of it off roading. Stuff happens.

lol, right!? That's why I'm here! Ignorance is easily addressed, stupid not so much.

Looking forward to addressing the former, and hopefully avoiding the latter as much as possible.

We are checklist people. Picked that up in the engine room in the Navy, and it's carried through. Even have a checklist of checklists for certain activities.

This is gonna' be fun.

Welcome, and congratulations on your new camper!
After years camping in a small teardrop, my wife and I bit the bullet and purchased a 1965 Caravel last year. Best camping decision we've ever made. I'm still getting used to being able to stand up in a camper, and my wife is overjoyed to have a bathroom!
Being new to the world of Airstream, I have found this site to be extremely helpful- I know you will too.

Welcome from Colorado: You deserve your new Airstream after all those years "roughing" it. You will find the Airstream a very comfortable place to be for a rainy night, or even a rainy afternoon. We've been traveling with an Airstream since 05 and really enjoy it, especially now that we are retired and can take our time.

There are many new members here every week, me included about 10 years ago. I have a lot of "basic" questions. I found the folks here are more than willing and really enjoy helping a new owner. You will likely find this to be the case when you meet other Airstream owners in your travels. It is a great community.

It's a done deal. Picking up a 2020 19CB Caravel on Friday. The wife and I are so excited we almost wet ourselves. Had a moment of panic when we walked through a 25 foot Flying Cloud about size, but that has passed. Backwoods Northwest here we come!

We don't camp, we glamp! I like my heater, memory foam bed and coffee maker! These joints gave up sleeping on the ground years ago!
