Hello

Hi Everybody.
My wife and just became the proud owners of a 1966 17' Caravel. We had been looking for a Airstream for awhile. I say we were looking but the truth is she did all the heavy lifting and searching. She (the Caravel not the wife) is going to need some work. The closer I look at it the more work it appears to need, so maybe I should stop looking so close. Knowing little about campers I'm going to need lots of help and advise. So thanks in advance to everybody for all your help.

Congratulations on the 66. There is always work to be done on these old trailers so don't get discouraged or overwhelmed. Feel free to ask questions as you work your way through the process.

Post some pictures if you're able.

Welcome,

Kevin

Thanks for the welcome.
Like the flamingos on your avatar. I guess I have a soft spot for the pink guys. I have a few that I inherited from my Dad.

Welcome!

When I got mine it was little more than a seven thousand pound, tandem axle, porta-potty. After four months and several thousand dollars, now mine is a seven thousand pound, tandem axle, porta-potty, with a trashed interior. I'm as happy as a hog in slop!

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

Just found your posting and wanted to say hello from Austin. We also purchased a Caravel in Sept. We are now working on it and so far it is a lot of fun. Do not have a tow vehicle for it ,so have not taken it out yet. Welcome again.

Use the Search...

As Obiwan advised Luke to use the Force, the "Search" tab above is extremely powerful here at the Forums.. As you get familiar with search strings and tricks, some incredibly useful posts from among the hundreds of thousands still recorded here will pop up and help you solve problems you didn't know you had...

There is an amazing group of owners and experts here, many of whom gained similar experiences just by being ahead of you on the clock...

Good luck with your project, and let us know how it's going...
