hello

Hello all.

We have a 63 airstream tradewind we purchased from a family friend.
we have a permanant site at a local campground (piney woods) and are looking to renovate/restore it. we will post pics when we have some decent ones. the ones we have are fuzzy and out of focus. (stupid digital camera)

Welcome to the forums! As you restore your Airstream... be sure and take oodles and oodles of photos with your digital camera ~ naturally we want to see some of them here, but they can really help you when disassembling parts and then making repairs... and then putting back together!

We have a 1963 Bambi and love her dearly! My hubby has a lengthy thread on our restoration, so take a look if you'd like. He has lots of pictures and how-to stuff. http://www.airforums.com/forums/f36/...mbi-17925.html

Have fun!

we feel pretty lucky at this point. looking through at what other owners have to do, ours is in pretty good shape. plumbing needs a little work but almost everything is in good shape. the stove is missing and it has a newer fridge. the bed (that goucho thing) in the front is gone too, we just put in our old futon with a new matress, works great! repair will be slow going, budget crunch, 4 kids (all boys), three dogs, 4 guinea pigs, three turtles, and a cockateal. whew, im tired thinking about it!
