My wife, Lynn, our three shelties and I are looking forward to joining you in the next few years as we approach retirement. We will be looking for the right AS and TV. Currently we enjoy more spartan camping in the California mountains, deserts and beaches in our Coleman tent trailer pulled by a 2000 S10 Blazer.

I enjoy phantom shopping for 20' - 25' later model AS, and want to be an informed buyer when the time comes. I'm learning about hitches, weights, mirrors, dumps, and all the arcanery that you all use. Thanks for sharing!

Welcome to the forum. Consider going to an Airstream rally for trailer tours. It might help you decide what you want when you are ready to buy.

Most rally goers are happy to give tours and a message to the organizer in advance of the event will generally get you a warm welcome to drop by.

Good luck with the search. We bought ours used and it has been fantastic. Plan on 2-3k in fixing stuff used for an older one. No surprises, just stuff comes up, like new brakes, tires, a replaced panel.
