Talking Hello

I have been AirStreaming for 4 years now and have been to the last two International rallies. I returned fromPerry, GA on July 23rd, '07. I belong to the group known as the FreeWheelers. We are a singles group who travel and park together, have a newsletter, and pre=rallies to the International. I am the President of the FreeWheelers this year. I will be planning our pre-rally for Bozeman, MT. It is a lot of fun to not have to go on trips by myself. The FreeWheelers is a group of nice people who enjoy dinner and socializing together. If anyone is interested in joining our group, please contact me at 541-343-2240. Our only requirement for membership is that you be single. Dues are $10.00 per year.

Talking Airstream trade-ins

I currently have a 2007 25' Classic. but before this I had a 31' Classic and a 28' Safari w/a slide-out. The reason I had a few before this one is just like the kid eating the bears porridge. I couldn't get comfortable with my trailer. The Safari w/the slide-out had a dead motor on my second year with it and I wound up on a trip with having to have a friend crank our the slide-out from underneath. If he hadn't been with me, I would have been stuck with it in a semi-locked position.
The 31' Classic turned out to be too long. The trailer was a dream but those extra six feet made it difficult for me to get out of gas stations, pull into places, etc. I know many people with the same and longer trailers who have no problem but for me it was. So, now I have the 25' and I love it. I spent two months travelling to Perry, GA this June/July and my trip back was slow and fun. Only some bad rains in LA, MS with the rest of the way being fine. My luck was with me because of flooding in Texas that I missed. I stopped at a RV park that the week before was under four feet of water. So when I got there the spaces were open but the rest of the park was a disaster.
Anyway, I plan a few rallies in Sept. to Nov. locally. I will be in Bozeman, MT next summer and have signed up for a caravan to Baja in winter of '09.
To get back to my original point, I wonder how many others (I am lucky that I could do it have been want to trade-in one trailer for another. This is my last trailer that I will keep until I trade-in for a B-van when I get older!
