Greetings from chilly North Carolina

Good evening fine folks. Denise here. Newbie from North Carolina. Currently it's about 25 degrees, and our part of the state is getting ready for some sleet and ice. I am not a fan of winter, so I'm browsing the 'net, looking at Airstreams and dreaming of warm weather.

A little bit about me: receptionist at a doctor's office is my main gig, portrait photography on the side. I am married, no kids....we have a German Shepherd dog, we love to attend reggae music concerts, love to travel (especially to the Caribbean) and love books. I am a member of two book clubs, and am part of a belly dance performance troupe. I try to stay busy planning our next vacay!

I look forward to "meeting" all of you and gaining lots of helpful tips for our Airstream search. I will definitely have to buy used, and most likely we'll be looking at restoring a vintage model. See ya 'round!

Greetings Neighbor and Welcome to the Forums

My husband and I live in Pfafftown and own a 2008 Airstream Safari that we bought in August 2011. We are also members of the local WBCCI unit. Although we are still newbies, please let us know if we can help with anything.

Susan

Thank you Susan!! Hope to meet up with you guys at some point. (Did you buy your AS from an RV place or an owner?) We have been perusing the websites of the local places...even the place in Colfax.

We searched for about a year and eventually found the trailer on ebay. The trailer was located in New Jersey. Air Forums has a classified section as well. I would suggest doing a lot a research in order to define to your "wish list". Good luck and let us know if we can help.

Hey There neighbor!
I also live in WS and my wife & I bought our AS last August. We have really enjoyed streaming every weekend we can. You have started your quest in the best place. Lots of super nice and super knowledgeable people here! Get it and head to the mountains or the outer banks or anywhere else your heart desires... The best part to me is it is definitely great family time together.

Greetings, and welcome!

There is a rally in charlotte the second weekend in March, Alumalina 2013, if you want to come by.

There will be lots of Airstreams and lots of Airstreamers there for you to see and talk with.

We'll look for you.

Will be there Thursday-Sunday sometime. There will be a potluck Saturday night that you could join, if you like.

You can follow the rally thread here on the Forums, will keep you updated, might even add yourselves as attendees. .

I'm sure John (sandlapper) will see this thread at some point and also jump in. He is the ringleader of this rally, one of many Airstreamers in your area.

See you there!

Maggie

I RSVP'd for a "maybe." If we can make it, it would be for Sat. Hoping we can attend!

Welcome Lonewolf! My wife and I have been doing the Airstream travel for the past four years and love it. We also go to St. Croix to visit our son's family as often as we can. Just got home a week ago from a six week stay there. When our daughter was at UNC we would stay at Spring Hill Campground just west of Chapel Hill (three months at a time). Anyway, when we got into the trailer life style we started out with a Keystone trailer, it lasted two years and started falling apart. Bought our Airstream two and a half years ago, have put 15,000 miles on it and love it. So far we have had no problems with it. Ours was lightly used when we bought it and was well worth the used part for the savings in $$. Good luck on your search.

ThreeFingers....six weeks in St. Croix?! Sooo jealous! While we love the USVI, the BVI is our favorite place on earth. We were actually married on Tortola. While we love to island hop, we are always BVI dreamin'. But, I'd live on St John given the chance!

St. John is a great place to visit, however with all the ships that pull in it can be too busy to live full time there, they also have the highest crime rate of the USVI. St. Croix has a problem now with 2500 out of work due to Hess Oil closing down. Last year and a half we spent a total of six months on island, I have to think when we get home to drive on the "right" side.
