Inside is about done. Need to work on the toilet........seems it leaks. Out and back in several times now, but she still leaks. Of course, ya can't hook up the water and see what I need to see all at the same time, so it's trial and error. I'm thinking now there is a seam between the seat and bowl, so that when you flush, rushing water leaks out high above the inside rim. Haven't gotten it back out yet - seems someone expects me to be in the office regularly.

Anyone think I'm anywhere near close on this guess?

Next step: rig a fitting for the garden hose so I can flush in the back yard.....

Wow, you made some progress.
Good to hear from you!

Sounds like the hose connection from the flush valve to the inside rim of the toilet.
If it's like my Thetford Galaxy, there are only 3 nuts holding the thing down and it is not hard to remove the thing.

To reinstall, you would need a new seal between the floor flange of the toilet.(a few bucks)

Keep flushing,

Michael

PS, Fotos PLEASE!

Congrats,
A great source for information on what you are about to do is the VAP (stands for Vintage Airstream Podcasts. Go to the ITunes store and you will find a whole section of these shows. Download for free and enjoy.
Good Luck

These Sovereigns are just too cool aren't they? We're the new owners of a 76 Sovereign and we're excited too. You've done a beautiful job. Is that a Dometic frig you put in? Also did you paint all the cabinets or replace them? I'd like to see more pictures.

Pic's are on post 18, if you haven't seen them. More are available.....We painted ALL brown laminate surfaces......primer, then paint. Caulked everything, then painted ceiling two tone blue. Wife made curtains from IKEA fabric, Laminate Bamboo floor from IKEA, new galley countertop from Home Depot. Removed center sofa sleeper and closet/counter and installed two single bunks, with LOTS of storage underneath. Bath mostly original, wife liked the wallpapaer. Layed OSB subfloow under the laminate nad left it as is in bedroom walkway and bath....we ues washable IKEA throw rugs...........Did I mention the three English Bulldogs that travel with us?? Need to finish, as I've said, the toilet leak and will probably seal the OSB that under the throw rugs, just in case one of the 'kids' has an accident.

I did the windows, and boy that was fun. As suggested and recommended on ASF, I broke out the inner pane of the vista wondows......a punch, a hammer and steady hand. Tap it first, then harder nad harder as you until she breaks. Punch at the very edge of the weatherstrip so you can knick the edge of the glass (if lucky enough). Took all the other windows out, apart, scraped cleaned and washed, then back together. Caulked aounr the old gaskets after rebuild/reinfirce the seal. I have a couple that still condense, so I'll need to go back and caulk some more after they dry. Most of the time, clear as can be. Use lots of WD40 if they won't slide apart. Some took longer to get apart than it took to completely remove, overhaul and replace others.

I keep seeing those screen door guards in several trailers. Does anyone know where you can purchase those? I also travel with dogs and they can do damage to the screen. Loved your videos. You've done a great job on the Sovereign.
