Great site you have here!
I purchased my Airstream two weeks ago, and have susequently gutted the interior. The previous owner did not keep very good care of the trailer. The Airstream will be remodeled as a portable office as well as living quarters for myself and the company equipement.
I work for a company that contracts to the Railway Companies in the U.S. as well as Canada. In our division, computers are required as well as nightly reports, therefore I'll be creating a work area in the front. I'm moving the kitchen towards the back where one of the beds was located. Perhaps sacraligious to some ( and I apologise ) as to to the renovations but non restauration.
I came across your forum during searches on the internet as to questions of maintenance and information concerning mechanical matters. Whenever I created a search inquirery, this site allways came up.
I'm particularily interested in insulating, weathersealing and wintercamping information, experiences and modifications. I'm working and traveling through Canada, mainly on the east coast concentrating on the Provinces of Quebec and Ontario.
Therefore I have chosen to join with your masses, impressed by the varity of information previously discussed, leads towards suppliers of parts, and more important, experience of owning and operating these nostalgic pieces of Americana.
Egotistically, I'm floored by the number of people who stop, stare, and want to comment on the trailer, even in it's neglected state.
