Got us a Wanderer

Just purchased an 18' Wanderer. Fair condition. "Wilamina" has been sitting in a field for 6+ years but prior to that used to go to Burning Man on an annual basis. Plan to do a superficial interior/exterior face lift and use as a guest house at our cabin for a couple of years then once the college bills go away we'll roll up the sleeves and do a more significant restoration. I really appreciate this forum and all of the information available. We are newbies to the world of vintage trailers so we look forward to may days ahead soaking up information.

The trailer # is 2078. Can anyone tell me how to figure out the year manufactured? I know it was made in Ohio but don't know when. I do know there were only a few years of production in the mid 50's. The configuration is a dinette in the front and a small double bed in the rear. Some had twin beds, not this one.

Any ideas on the best place to find an eyebrow drip cap for over the door? She leaks without it and it has resulted in some plywood deck in need of replacement.
Thanks everyone. We look forward to happy Airstream days ahead.

Based on the Airstream Archives and the VIN #2058, looks like you have a 1956.

Cute as a button! I'd love to find one of those!

As to the eyebrow , contact Frank Yensan, he custom makes them.

Love it, any inside photos? There is a 64 for sale right outside my office window, I longing look at it each day, but I am not interested in a project, although this one looks pretty good, I was surprised.

Enjoy your little one....

I find a wealth of friendly help here in these Air Forums. Insideout and reinergirl already helped you with a couple of your questions. There is a tremendous number of willing experts here.

So, post more pictures please...
