Got my wife her AS for our anniversary.

Howdy.

My wife has been wanting an Airstream for years. Last friday we brought home a 2008 Safari SE 23FB. We were so happy. Well for less than 24 hours that is.

Saturday morning we took her back to the dealer. Rained in the wee hours and Sat morning we found that the roof leaked badly. Don't know when we will get to bring her back home again.

Funny, I never knew that the default anniversary gift for 15 years of marriage was aluminum. That's what she said anyway and I've learned not to tell her she is wrong.

Anyway hope to have the AS back in the driveway soon.

Congratulations on both the anniversary and the Airstream! Our roof leaked last summer too...the skylight had been screwed down too tightly, so it had cracked at the screws. It was a quick fix. I hope yours will be too. Best wishes, and happy camping!

I think you started something. What are you going to do next year? That will be hard to top!

machead, tell your wife that the 16th anniversary is the Porsche 911 for the husband.

Sorry to hear about the leaks—ours started after a year plus. Get some sealant and a caulking gun for the future. The Airstream website will tell you what to use.

Thanks for all the input. The dealer is going to take care of it when they figure out where the leak is starting.

As far as the 16th anniversary, well I must confess that she bought into the idea that the 14th anniversary was supposed to be a Goldwing so I guess we are even.

A fews years ago we started combining our birthdays, anniversary and Christmas & just getting one big item. Since they all fall between 9-30 and 12-25, firgured it made sense. First year was a fireplace and flat screen wall mount TV for the master bedroom/. Second year was a hugh flat screen TV for the family room. And in 2008 we found our "new to us" 2005 Safari for 35th anniversary, my 60th bday and rusty rivets 65th. Last year we decided on generators (still unpurchased).
Congratulations on your anniversary and many more to you. Hopefully you will have your A/S back soon so you can take your anniversary trip.
PS. Hope you have as much fun with your trailer as we have had with ours. Best wishes, Susan

Congratulation on the Wedding Anniversary.Thats a great gift. It reminds me of a true story where a lady left her husband at Home in Canada and said she needed a little time to herself and was going to visit friends in the States. She packed her own TV and headed out.SHE returned home to Canada about 2 or 3 weeks later, while her husband was at work. She didnt return empty handed, she surprised him on thier 25th wedding anniversary with an AS she had purchased while she was here.
Congrations again on your wedding Anniversary and the new Trailer
