Getting ready to remodel a '67 TradeWind

Hi, y'all. I'm about to move from tiny living quarters in downtown Houston to Airstream living quarters (tinier) in Marfa, TX. The TradeWind will be parked alongside my business, which will have a private bath and kitchen, so I will not be renovating the kitchen and bath areas of the trailer. Currently the trailer is gutted inside except for some of the shelving and drawers are still there. I plan to keep what's original, still there and usable, but will be building out the rest. Not a restoration, but a transformation into a basic dormitory.
The trailer is a basket case inside and all windows need replacement, plus the door handle is broken. However, all running gear has been redone and it reently traveled from Florida to Houston without incident and drove great. This is my first Airsteam. I have experience in auto repair, electical work and wood finishing. Anyway, I've got a lot to learn. Thanks- marfagringo

Hi marfagringo and welcome to the forums. I own a ’67 TW and might be able to help you with any questions about the original design. I’m attaching a couple floorplans for reference, but mine has a side gaucho rather than a double bed or twins. You can get a new door handle/lockset from vintagetrailersupply.com or Inland RV. Good luck with your project.

Thanks!

Hi, y'all- Thanks! Well, in researching the window glass issue I figured out that my Trade Wind is a 1965 instead of a '67. Basically I'll be gutting most of what remains from the original interior and I will list any parts I don't re-use up here first before they go to Ebay. This trailer is in pretty bad shape inside.
I got some pretty reasonable price quotes for flat tempered glass (at 1/8 inch thickness) for replacement window glass. The plexi that's in there now is yellowed and cracked and since I'll be driving this thing only twice in the next four years weight is not an issue. My window hardware is pretty shot. I guess the point is that it should be easy for me to install a thicker grade of glass without ruining the look since the look is already rough. I'll post some pictures very soon on my personal website and link here when I do - marfagringo
