Getting ready to buy

The Bambi 16' International was love at first sight for us. Now, we're in the process of trying to find a good deal, and having a hard time down here in So. Cal. One dealer's fees are outrageous. We're not sure what kind of fees are standard, or what kind of haggling room there is. If anyone has advice for us we'd sure appreciate it. We can't wait to buy and get on the road.

Welcome to the forums!
Many folks will travel considerable distances to find the right Airstream for them, some even traveling cross country, or even to different continents. Many dealers have websites showing their inventory, you can contact them, maybe make a deal on a new one long-distance, and make a camping trip out of it to pick it up.

Try Toscano's in Los Banos. Dave will give you a great price over the internet and no surprises when you show up. A bit of a drive though.

Don't be afraid to travel for your trailer. It paid off for me.

I'm in Los Angeles County and I went to Paso Robles both times I bought an Airstream.

The Person I dealt with at Skyriver RV was great. My salesperson Lori was a great help in both long distants purchases. We talked and emailed a lot but there were no surprises and everything was as promised. Great attitiude too.

Yes, we have courtesy parking for you. About an hour North of Los Angeles.

Welcome to the Forums.

When we bought our 25' Safari last year, we checked dealer stock, and found nine dealers east of the Mississippi that had the model we wanted. We checked with each one. A couple refused to quote prices over the phone. We wrote those off immediately. The prices quoted varied widely. The dealer that we purchased from was almost $2,000 les than the next closest. It pays to shop around. I understand that the Bambis are a little harded to deal on than the larger Airstreams.

Best of luck in your Airstream quest. We hope to see you on the road with your Bambi real soon.

Shop around. The first dealer I went to wanted nearly $75,000 for the unit I purchased. I shopped around one dealer would not quote a price over the phone. They lost. Another did by fax and I ended up buying from them. Five hours drive. nearly $10,000 saved.
