Found our little Bambi!
Hi all,
Well, we've talked about getting an Airstream someday closer to retirement, but after a crazy year family-wise we decided... why wait, tomorrow is not guaranteed. So, we just purchased an early 2004 International CCD 19', Blue Streak, just the color we wanted! Goes nicely with the new blue Taco TV too.
Now we wait... impatiently We won't be able to go pick it up for a week or so. So much for instant gratification! Really looking forward to surfing the boards for useful info. and exploring the great state of Colorado on weekends and beyond for longer trips.
Hope to see you on the road soon!

Congratulations! You'll have so much to see within CO and your Bambi is a great trailer to experience it in. Enjoy! Safe Travels!

Yet another Colorado Airstreamer. Hooray! Welcome to the Airstream community. I'm new to Colorado and have a whole lot of the state to explore. You picked just the right trailer to travel the mountain roads.

Congratulations! Your Bambi is just the right size to fit into smaller mountain campsites. Have fun, ask lots of questions and get out on the road!

Welcome from another Longmonter! I hope you have a lot of fun with your Bambi.
Check out the Colorado branch of the Airstream club. The May "maintenance" rally is especially helpful to new Airstream owners.

Thanks all for the warm welcome! We found a shipper and brokered a deal right quick... she's on her way and we should be receiving her late tonight at the RV storage yard! Fingers crossed all looks good upon arrival!
Then... for winterization, glad it will be warmer tonight, with the late arrival, what a bummer it would be to have to do it on the fly and in the dark.
So, tomorrow should be decent and I'm hoping to skip out of work early to get going on winterization in daylight.
Did I mention I didn't sleep much last night hoping all goes smoothly. Apparently there is no hope for me!

Hi, buyer's anxiety before delivery is perfectly normal. So is buyer's remorse after delivery. I'm usually afflicted with both on an Airstream deal. I do hope everything is to your liking and it all checks out well. There is nothing on an Airstream that can't be rectified, witnessed by these forums.
The weather will be nice for the next week or so. Post a couple of pictures when you get a chance. We all would love to see the cute little rascal.

Arrival! Woohoo! Rolled in last night around 11 PM after a long windy tow from AZ to Longmont! All looks great outside, some minor cosmetic issues here and there inside, but nothing I didn’t anticipate for a 13 year old trailer.... actually she’s in great shape for her age. Excited to get started on little fixes, tweaks and improvements.
More to come when we can get out there in daylight.

Yea! Clap, clap, clap! That's an Airstream all right. We're forecasted with nice weather over the long Thanksgiving weekend. Post some more pictures as you assess your new trailer. Hopefully you won't step through a hole in the floor. If you do, it can be repaired.
My old 75 Overlander 27' was also called an "International" way back then. The International designation was the "top trim level" back then. It had more amenities. When your trailer was built, International was a whole model Airstream.
I think the CCD stands for a certain interior decor.

Yes indeed, we've specifically been searching for a CCD... it stood for Christopher C. Deam, a designer that did a demo model for Airstream that had a more modern look and used various laminates to get that mod look. Last night we did a bit of a walkthrough and the floor feels really good. The small dealer we purchased from relayed it was a one-owner trailer that basically carried the owners between AZ and TX and was stored under cover in both locations. It looks to have been lightly used as advertised.
Having owned a sailboat in the past, one of the use indicators to me is that the fiberglass shower is nearly spotless and much of the small trim pieces that usually show some abuse are in good shape. The shower has no stains or chips in the gel coat, and it looks like the oven might only have been used a few times. The refrigerator is spotless as well.
I think we have some general repairs to catch up on such as replacing some of the little foam gaskets and such around the outside access doors that prevent rattling and the interior bezels around the roof vents which have a few cracks. We're pretty excited to dig in and get the little things done and then get some goodies to make it our own! It's good to be a DIYer

Thanks all! For all you Colorado folks... do you prefer to just blow out the lines and put antifreeze in the p-traps, or do you put antifreeze through the pump and into the supply lines?
I’m thinking if we get the lines nice and clear I won’t have to put it through the system.

If you just blow out the lines using the city water connection, you will miss the pump (and the strainer that should be on the input line to the pump).
I do both: Air through the city water until air comes out at each sink/toilet/shower, plus air through the black tank flush input; then antifreeze through the pump to each sink/toilet/shower. That's overkill, but the last three years we have left home in the middle of winter with the trailer still winterized, then de-winterized down south. I don't want to discover one or more damaged plumbing pieces while we are living in the trailer. If my plan was to wait until it was warm and then de-winterize at home, with time allowed for repairs if needed, I might be less thorough.
