Flying cloud cafe. Teddington, England

We opened our new al fresco cafe by Teddington lock on the river Thames a couple of weekends ago. The kitchen and servery is housed in a 1951 flying cloud. we bought the trailer as a shell on eBay! ARC in Somerset installed the hatch and we completed the fit out ourselves. The great thing is that we do not need planning as it's a temporary structure and this also gets us around the restrictions of building in flood plains. More importantly the flying cloud looks fantastic and is a real talking point! Its also appropriate that as a 'land yacht' its located in an old boatyard. We took the name for the cafe from the model which works really well. The first couple of weekends have been a great success and hoping that the forthcoming royal wedding weekend will be even better! Excellent! Next time I'm in the UK (and I surely will be), I'll call in. A nice cup of tea and a slice of cake will do me nicely.
