Hi
Boy, this forum looks like the place to be! I took on the family project of rebuilding a 1966 Overlander Twin 26 that has just been taking up space for about 8 years. It looks to be in good shape for the time that it has sat. The exterior has a few dents, a missing front window cover and a missing front vent. I know I will need all new window seals, and a few cranks. All the glass is original, with only one screen missing. I still have to test all the gas, electric, and water systems. The interior is pretty strait. All the cabinets and liners are intact, with the bathroom needing the most help, including the rotted floor in front of the toilet. I plan to add A/C, a microwave, a TV, and remove the oven. I'll post some pics when I get a chance, as I already have questions. But for now, since I just started taking it apart, I think I am looking for basic do's and don'ts if you have any. Thanks in advance, Tom

Thumbs up Hi TOM

Welcome to the forum. Do not be affraid to ask questions. There is alway some one that has already done what you are starting to do. I lucked out my AS was in good working orde. I needed tires and brakes and fix few small leaks. My trailer sat in a barn for 12 years. Had to evict few criters but they left as soon as I sprayed it.
Regards fom Russell in rainy and hot Tucson Az.

Hey Tom...welcome to the Airforums...you are right...you are in exactly the right place to get your questions answered and find the information you'll need. Many here have rebuilt thier Airstreams from the ground up— literallly—and they are willing to share thier experiences. Search the rennovation threads and the other subforms and do some searches for specific buz words... and of course, ask the questions you can't find the answers to...

There's a huge amount of experience in these folks, and they are quite willing to advise and help out...

Have a blast!

Welcome to the forums!

If you are going to add a microwave and air conditioner, you might want to rewire and totally redo all the electrical in your trailer. You won't regret it! Good luck with your project. Post some pictures, we love pictures!
