Congratulations!!!!!!!
That first drive home for me is still
In my memory like yesterday.
In 1997 driving home my first airstream a used 1991 29 ft.
Excella 1000.
I bought it from a preacher who travelled all over the US.
He mentioned 2 things I’ll never forget.
1. He had to make an emergency interstate maneuver into the ditch and out.
And that dang thing followed him like a puppy.
2. When you pull into a camp, everyone notices you.
Enjoy !!!!
Your
“King of the road”

Thank you for sharing. Our first drive home was 1300 miles. I avoided the toll booths. You had to pry my hands from the steering wheel. I’m pretty sure it gets easier from here.

Hello from Colorado: Welcome to the vintage Airstream hobby. That 61 Bambi is very popular and worth a lot of money. Make sure you have an adequate "agreed value" insurance policy on it.
Towing your trailer will become second nature. Although it is a lightweight trailer, you might want to consider a weight distribution, sway control hitch to make towing a bit easier. And make sure you have good mirrors on your vehicle so you can better see who is passing. Towing is a much different driving dynamic. Braking, acceleration and turning are all different animals compared to what you are used to. Take it slow at first. It takes practice to build confidence.

If you look at the second pic they posted, they have a WD hitch installed, though I'm less certain of an anti-sway device. I agree with everything else you said...

Thank you everyone. We added control and weight distribution. Now I just need to learn to back up. Practice practice practice
