Figured I'd introduce myself

Hello, my name is Kyle. About 6 months ago we were given a 1969 Avion T-28. (I know it's not an AS but I've read lots of posts in here that have helped me so far). It belonged my wife's grandparents.

It hasn't been used in over 10 years but has been under cover for at least half of its life. We are not sure when they acquired the camper.

I am getting close to getting everything functional. It's in really good shape for its age. The floors are solid which was a huge blessing.

I'm just getting going again working on it. We found out we are having another baby, I work in the oilfield industry so work is slow, but we finally ran electricity and water to the existing rv cover at our house and moved it here so I can work on it much easier. Hopefully we can go on our first trip by September, or at least that's my goal.

Thanks for having me.

Welcome to the forums, that sure is one mighty fine lookin’ Avion! Perfect size, too (thanks for posting the photos).

As you are the only Avion person ever to post something on the Airforums, I doubt very seriously that if you were to type in “Avion” in the search box, you’d find anything on ‘em regarding repairs, mods, love...

You’re gonna love that trailer, good luck in making great memories!

Hi Kyle, hello from central Kentucky and welcome to the forum. Yes, thanks for the pictures. . I'm envious of the really nice cover you have there. That's a nice looking Avion, good luck on the upgrades. There's lots of experience here on the forum. Be sure to share yours, it might give others some ideas for theirs.

I love that it belonged to your wife's grandparents. They may have been the only owners.

Undoubtedly, lots of happy memories in the pores of that rig, which will support and give strength to the making of your own.

Looks like a great part time project for a young Dad, and I can guarantee your children will love camping in it when you have it ready to go.

Keep us posted on the restoration.

🏡 🚐 Cherish and appreciate those you love. This moment could be your last.🌹🐚

Thanks for the welcome.

The first picture is at my in laws. They have a crazy big cover from their house to their shop. The second is at my house. 15'x30' with 14' eaves. It was here when we bought it. It needs some work. Carpenter bees have eaten parts of it up. But it's a good place to park the trailer.

This is my first trailer to work on and first camper of any kind do its a learning experience for me. I've gutted and remodeled 3 houses so far but this is throwing a few curveballs my way.

Welcome aboard. Looks like a great project!

The interior looks to be in really good shape. We will look forward to your progress as you spiff it up!
